Embrace the Wet Look. A recent trend has been the wet look. Add a small amount of conditioner to your hair for extra protection. The more moisture means less chance or dry strands! See our Trend Watch Board on Pinterest for more wet looks.

Sulfates Are Bad. Sulfates, including salt, can cause damage to hair. If you plan on swimming in the ocean or even pools this summer, make sure to rinse your hair before and after your swim.

SPF Sprays. We use sunscreen to protect our skin, why not for our hair too? Many brands are now adding SPF to their leave-in conditioning sprays and even hair sprays. Look for it on their labels and since you use the products already there’s no extra steps to take!

Keep Cool. The best option of all is to stay cool. Your body, including hair, has a limit of how much sun it can handle. Stay inside or in the shade or take breaks from the heat. You’ll have better-looking hair and skin by staying cool.

Don’t let the sun ruin your hair this summer. Follow these tips and protect your hair at the next pool party or barbecue. Visit our Pinterest Board for some of The Style Bars favorite hats and products to protect your hair.
