Roaring 20’s Inspired Hair

As summer unwinds, party season is in full swing. And sometimes, the theme rewinds 90 years to the roaring 20’s. The 1920’s was an exciting time to experiment with your hair; curls and up-do’s were a must and flapper inspired hairstyles had taken over.
Playing up the hairstyles of another decade is a great way to stand out at any party or event. Last week, we styled a few 1920’s inspired looks for a themed party that had us thinking we were back in the prosperity decade. These styles are fun and perfect for a themed party or special occasion where you want to embrace your inner Gatsby party look.

Our favorite 20’s inspired looks:

A low up-do with lots of curls is a classic 20’s look that emphasizes volume and texture.

Another major trend of the roaring 20’s was the swept curl. These curls frames your face and then swoop into the updo, going in all different directions, which adds dimension to your hairstyle.

Finally, we can’t forget about accessories. The 20’s were all about flapper inspired looks, with lots of headbands, accessories, feathers and fringe. To finish this look, we added a headband so it looked like it belonged at a Gatsby party. You can’t go wrong with a sparkly headband or flower accessory if you are trying to achieve a roaring 20’s look.

The 20’s hair evolution is timeless. The sophisticated, classic looks that came about because of the flapper generation are trendy and different. Bring them back for your next themed party!
